When we talk about pH regulation in pool water, it is actually the most important condition in the water treatment, and it means that you have to keep the pH value closest to 7, which is the skin's normal pH value. pH regulation is something you always add to the water before adding other products, ie. you balance your water before adding other products to the water.

RISK WHEN PH VALUE IS TOO LOW:

If the water has a low pH value then you have what is called acidic water and then there is a risk of rust and corruption in the pool on all the parts that are part of the pool, such as ladders, skimmers and metal parts. At the same time, it is uncomfortable for the pool user because you have a balance that is lower than the skin's normal pH value and this means that you can get itchy skin and red eyes. You can feel it physically on your body if the balance is not in order.

RISK WHEN PH VALUE IS TOO HIGH:

If you have a higher pH value than the recommended one, then you have the same problems with regard to body discomfort. But at the same time there is also a risk that any lime that is in the water from nature's side will precipitate and settle in the sides and bottom of the pool. Furthermore, it can settle in expensive elements such as hot bodies and heat pumps, such as a layer of lime.

Another important thing about the pH is that if the pH is out of its scale then it distorts the effect of the disinfection drastically. That is, if the pH value in the water is above 7.5 or below 7, then the effect of chlorine on the disinfection of the water is distorted, up to 80%. Therefore, it is very important to balance the water properly to achieve the best possible disinfection when we reach that point.

TYPES OF PH REGULATION:

There are 2 types of agents for the use of pH regulation. pH- and pH +

If you have a too high pH value, you add pH- and if you have too low a pH, pH + is added.

The pH regulation itself can change continuously, you have to measure your pH value at least once a week to be sure the value of around 7 is maintained.

It is also important to know that the pH value can be changed by external factors such as rain and dirt in the pool, or if the pool users deposit sweat or urine. So there is always a risk that the pH value can get out of its regulation and level and there you have to measure the value during the week and regulate it back to the right balance.
